Meet the new School Counselor at Skillin!

Hi, my name is Lorry Schwellenbach and although this is my second year at Skillin School it is my 12th year as an elementary counselor in SPSD and my 22nd year as an elementary counselor in Maine! I have been the counselor at Brown for 10 years and have also worked at Small, Kaler and Marsh.

I love being a school counselor and am very happy to be at Skillin, you are such a wonderful community of teachers and staff, students and families.

My job is to be available to all students, supporting them in their efforts to learn and assisting them in their social and emotional growth. I work with students in classrooms, in small groups and individually. I welcome any opportunity to work together with families to help their children in any way.

I live in Portland with my husband, we have two grown children (ages 34 and 38), and two grandchildren. When not at work I love to bike, walk, hike, kayak, read. I am also a certified yoga instructor.
